It might be easier to first establish what we do not expect, perfection. There was only One that was perfect and He is why we’re doing this. We understand teens are teens and certainly aren’t expected to sound, act or think as adults, I dare not open that can of worms. WNC Scholarship is not as concerned with what you’ve done as a teen as we are what you will do, what you will contribute or what you are capable of learning that will equip you to impact others, through personal, business or professional contact.
We are not looking for Missionaries, the most Popular or Book Worms with a high GPA. There are some that specialize in “busy work” or whose most cherished talent is ‘schmoozing’ (cajolery without work), I will try to be kind, this scholarship or university is probably not for you. However, we are looking for the few who possess varying degrees of the genuine good character traits that make them distinguishable from the many; sincerity, honesty, an uncompromising high moral and ethical code, a work ethic, dependability, basic communicative skills and timeliness. We absolutely understand each of us has been uniquely created by God, with unique characteristics, personalities and traits. And that is exactly what we look forward to finding in each student.

- Any 12th grade graduate or GED equivalent applying as a college freshman.

- Able to demonstrate an abstinence from drugs and/or alcohol.
- Applicants should apply to CCU and for the WNC Scholarship simultaneously. CCU will set the scholastic requirements and WNCSF will review the financial need and qualifications of each student.
- This Scholarship Fund and CCU encourage all students to work while attending. This is not only good experience, but offers the student the benefit of being responsible for their own goals. We will do all we can to aid in this and CCU has a well established student work program. Students will receive a paycheck than have their salary automatically deducted for any school expenses. This has proven to be very helpful teaching students to be accountable for part of their scholastic expenses.
